Look. I get it. I’ve been through it all. The ‘How Much Should I Charge’ and ‘How Do I create Packages That Sell’ are two popular questions that get asked by both clients and strangers daily (you’re always welcome to ask your biz building questions on INSTAGRAM). Well today I’ll be spilling all the beans on how to not only price your coaching packages so they actually sell but a few ideas on how to deliver your coaching as well!

So before we get too deep into this whole pricing rabbit hole I do want to cover two quick things first: 1). I’m going to challenge you to just take some imperfect action and decide on a price by the end of today. You can rest easy knowing that NOTHING is ever set in stone and you can change / test pricing whenever you want! I mean, that’s the reason you got into coaching and started a business in the first place right? You’re the boss, you run the show! 2). We’re going to have to cover different ways of delivering your coaching sessions /  programs as price will be greatly affected by your delivery methods. But before we start choosing random prices and creating random packages let’s cover a few different ways you can deliver your coaching:
  • By the Session – e.g., $100 / session (NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL)
  • By the Month – e.g., $450 / month (A MUCH BETTER OPTION)
  • By The Package – e.g., 6 Month Package for $6000 (THE KEY IS CREATING A TIERED PRICING SYSTEM)
Then we can further deliver our coaching through one on one, small groups online, larger groups in person (etc).

So, for example, you may offer 20 clients an 8 week group coaching package that gets your clients a desired results (losing weight, changing habits, making twice the money, becoming a master cook etc.) for $800 per student. Then you could offer a VIP one on one experience that takes your client through the same 8 week transformation but offer an hour of one on one time a week and daily accountably for $2900. You could also add on a 2 week trial package and a 4 month small group all intensive coaching package. You then may want to offer up 6 month or 12 month coaching packages for long term results – truth is, there’s no limit as to what you can offer any how many different packages you can put up, but what all these packages have in common is one thing: They get clients a desired result (just delivered  in slightly different ways). Coaching Tip: It’s important that you sell the RESULT. Once you’re clear on the result and the transformation your clients want, creating your packages becomes simple: Create a step by step system that gets your clients the results their after. For example, I break my coaching down into an 8 module program that takes clients from a passionate idea to a profitable business, each module structured to take them to the next step. After completing all 8 steps clients will have an online coaching business that generates leads and discovery calls daily. Check it out HERE if ya like! How To Price Your Coaching Packages So They Actually Sell!

 Here are 3 things to think about when creating your pricing:
1) TIME: How much of your own time are you investing within the coaching programs. If you’re working one on one with someone and spending 1 hour a week plus 10 minutes daily shooting over emails then make sure you’re getting paid for those 2 hours a week. If you price your coaching packages at $300 a month but are spending 10 hours a month with your clients then you’re not only undervaluing yourself but you’re trapping yourself into a low paying job – and worst of all your clients results will suffer. One way to get around the time for money trap and still offer amazing value at a great price is by creating a group coaching package where you take 10 or 20 (or more) clients through a transformation together! COACHING TIP: Create a group coaching package as your mid range package and a one on one program as your higher end package. 2) SKILLS: It’s a topic that can’t be ignored. Do you have any social proof? Have you delivered consistent results for your clients? Do you have a large data-base of resources and worksheets that you’ve created over years of coaching or are you looking to get your first handful of clients? As your skills increase so do the results you get for clients! DO NOT fall into the trap of under-valuing yourself though. I’d say 90% of coachesI work with (even seasoned coaches) are always under-valuing themselves. I can tell you with almost 100% certainty, even if you’re brand new with no experience, that you’re charging way too little. As long as you’re an honest coach who’s  committed to getting your clients results no matter what then don’t be afraid to charge what you’re worth. COACHING TIP: Spend 30 minutes or more every single day honing your coaching skills and learning more about your area or expertise. It’ll only be a matter of time until you’re the GO TO expert coach that everyone wants to work with – and you’ll be able to price your coaching packages accordingly! 3) COMPETITION: Truth is, I don’t believe in competition. Too many coaches and entrepreneurs in general are always scoping out the competition and trying to either match or beat them on price. I honestly never really bother looking at my ‘competition’ and absolutely DO NOT base my pricing on what ‘they’ charge. I simply charge in proportion to the results I’m able to provide. I not only help coaches go from zero to 10K a month and beyond but I help them create a life full of freedom. COACHING TIP: Don’t worry about what the competition charges. Simply get clear on the results you deliver, break down how much of your time you need to invest with your clients and create a few different packages to meet your clients needs. As you evolve, get results and gather testimonials you’ll naturally be able to charge more as you get more efficient at delivering results. Lastly, take action! Your Coaching Biz Success Strategy: Be a Big Fish in a Small Pond

Welcome to the Coaches Corner Blog (A corner of the internet solely created to help coaches grow their businesses!) If you’re a coach who’s hungry for practical, relevant and actionable strategies to help you build that dream business of yours (no matter where you may be right now) then you just found the best place on the internet to help you build that biz and create true freedom. Today we’re talking about a simple strategy that’s guaranteed to help you stand out and get noticed. The concept is simple: Be a Big Fish in a Small Pond.

 

The internet is extremly crowded and one of the largest, noisiest and most competitive ‘pools’ out there. There are sharks who’ve been in the game longer than you, have larger teams than you, have more money than you and can out spend you and out market you all day long.

 

What are us small fish to do? I’ll break the answer into two parts for ya! (and if you have more questions or what to connect then don’t hesitate to reach out on Instagram and say HI!)

 

PART ONE: Be a big fish in a small pond.

 

First we ignore our egos and swim into a smaller pool until we’re big enough to move into a bigger pool, and we continue to grow and move until we can compete and win against the biggest and baddest fish. What I’m talking about is, of course, joining or carving out a smaller niche with less competition (for now at least) and completely owning that space. Most coaches (both online and in person) are doing the exact opposite. They’re entering larger markets because there’s more potential customers, clients and dollars but end up frustrated because they get lost in all the noise. Focus on being a big fish in a small pond.

 

Ask yourself what business you’re in right now. Maybe you’re a personal trainer or health coach specializing in getting guys 6 pack abs, maybe you’re a life coach helping frustrated employees make a transition into a new career or maybe you’re a copywriter providing both coaching and done for you services. Now have a realistic look at the size of pool you’re in and if you’re a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in a big pond.

 

If you’re a small fish then niche down. Get more specific on who your ideal customer / client is and commit to only working with them. Adjust all your marketing and content to ONLY speak to that specific person. For example, instead of me offering general ‘business coaching’ I niche down to strictly coaches. I further niche down to helping Passionate Coaches (yes, having a passion for what you do and a burning desire to help others is a prerequisite) create entire online businesses and winning lead generating funnels in 3 months or less.

 

If I simply offered ‘business coaching’ then I’d be up against guys like Tony Robbins (move aside Tony, Lukies coming for ya!) who have deeper pockets and a deeper customer base than I currently have. It’s very very possible to create a 6  and 7 figure business by aggressively niching down and starting later targeted, then expanding as your list and reach grows.

PART TWO: Stand out by being YOU.

 

Leverage yourself and who you are.

 

I spend a lot of time helping coaches develop and build their personal brands. No one’s got what you got – and ultimately those things that make you different (that we often times try to hide) are the exact things that will help you stand out and attract the clients / customers you want.

 

Inject your personality into every single piece of content you create. Don’t be afraid to stand out and do things differently than what everyone else is doing. If you’re weird (and who isn’t) then be weird! Share your imperfections. Talk about your mistakes (and what you learned). People won’t be attracted to you if you brand yourself as picture perfect. They’ll connect with you and your brand on a much deeper level if you allow yourself to be you and tell it all.

 

Have a realistic look at the market you’re entering and ask yourself if you’re really a big fish in a small pond or a small fish getting murdered in a big pond, and then inject yourself into everything you create! Sounds simple, I know. Give yourself some time. Allow yourself room to make some mistakes (or, if you’re like me, then allow yourself A LOT of room to make A LOT of mistakes 🙂 Yes, the technical stuff like sales funnels, building a list and marketing strategies are important, but without a solid foundation and proper positioning in the marketplace you’ll struggle to ever create any traction!

Need Content Ideas? Here are 5 Simple Ways To Come Up With 100’s Of AMAZING Ideas In The Next 30 Minutes!

A question that I get asked all the time from both clients or fellow Business Building friends through either Instagram or the Facebook Page is: How the hell do I come up with amazing content ideas!?’. I always feel stuck when it comes to creating social media content, videos and blog posts! HELP!

 

I don’t care what kind of business model you have or what niche you working in, the following 5 ways will help you come up with literally HUNDREDS of amazing content ideas… and it won’t take ya much more than 30 minutes to do! So open up a google doc and get ready to create your long list of content ideas!!!!

 

 1. Google Keyword Planner

 

This is literally my go to when coming up with Content Ideas: Simply go to Google’s Keyword Planner and type in a topic or idea you’re interested in. For example, if I type in ‘Digital Marketing’ into the Keyword Planner I get over 700 results… some of the top ones being: seo, affiliate marketing, social media marketing, marketing plan, email marketing, internet marketing, what is digital marketing, marketing tools, b2b marketing. It’ll also give you stats on how many times the keyword or phrase is being searched…

From there I could simply take a result, for example, email marketing, and plug it back into the keyword planner. Out come results like email templates, email marketing providers and opt in pages. Not bad list of ideas for 2 minutes of work! Try it out!

*** Quick note: You do have to set up a Google Adwords Account to access the keyword planner. Yes it’s free. Yes it’s worth it!

 

2. Reddit

 

Reddit is seriously amazing for seeing what questions / topics are trending and what’s getting the most engagement and creating content ideas from. Log into reddit and simply search for your keyword, idea or niche. For example, if I use ‘Digital Marketing’ again I’ll get forums and topics such as: Domain Name For Website – Match Business Name Or Tagline?. Is Hubspot Jack In All Trade for Digital Marketing?. How do you display results from experimentation to clients?. Best app to schedule instagram posts? Tips to Generate Free Traffic in Digital Marketing? New To Digital Marketing! How do I start Google Adwords SEO and PPC?

Again, pretty good ideas to pull from for literally 30 seconds of work! What ya waiting for, go search topics relevant to your niche!

 

3. Quora

 

Q and A sites like Quora are serious gold. Simply log in, create an account and search for categories and subtopics to see 100’s of questions relevant to your topic.

You also get a direct, real time look into pain points and hot topics your target audience is talking about. You’ll see how your target audience describes and talks about their problems (which is important because you need to ‘speak their language’) and how these issues and problems affect their lives!

Go take the top 5 or 10 trending questions and create content answering those very questions!

4. What’s that One question you get asked all the time?

 

Yes, this one’s obvious but often times overlooked. If you’ve been doing what you’re doing for a while start becoming aware of those repetitive questions you always get asked and create a video or blog post answering it.

I personally keep a content idea notebook and quickly jot down a few notes when either followers or clients ask me questions regarding online marketing or business building strategies. If you’re not as old school as me then use your notes app in your phone or keep a google doc and make it habit to add ideas to the list daily!

 

5. Facebook Groups!

 

Seriously, so simple and so effective. Join a facebook group in your niche and have a peek at what your ideal clients / target marketing is discussing. (And Make sure you join the Coaches Corner Facebook Group to get around 100’s of coaches committed to building their online businesses!) Always respect the Facebook Groups policies (someone put a lot of time into creating the group) and don’t join groups to simply ‘mine’ for leads / customers. See what your target audience is talking about, see what they’re frustrated about, see what pain points their looking to solve and generate content ideas from there!

 

 Bonus: Visit Popular Websites!

 

This one’s easy enough and highly effective! Find influencers sites or popular websites in your niche and simply scroll down the blog section to see what they’re writing about. I’m not saying COPY anything – but have a quick scroll and jot down any topics / ideas that really pop out at you. You’ll not only generate a ton of content ideas for yourself but, if the writer knows what he’s doing, you’ll get an education in writing catchy headlines / titles!

 

 

So there ya go! You could literally have a years worth or relevant content ideas that your target marketing is ACTUALLY interested in consuming in the next 30 minutes! Questions? Simply reach out and ask on Instagram!

I want to challenge you for the next 30 days.

 

Finish EVERYTHING that you start. Even if it’s not going as planned. Finish it.

 

Every time we start something and don’t finish it we lose a little respect for ourselves. Quitting on something is failing. Failing on something is winning (in disguise)

 

The reality is that no one really cares if we’re winning or not. When we quit on something we’re not letting anyone down but ourselves. And after doing it over and over and over we end up losing all respect for ourselves… which leads to low self esteem and zero confidence.

 

Today that changes.

 

Finish that business idea you’ve been working on. Finish cleaning the garage or fixing your alternator. Finish that book or blog post you’ve been working on. Finish your commitment to waking up earlier and going to the gym. Just fucking finish what you started…. and next thing you know you’re a winner.

 

Everything you start you’ll finish… and success will come naturally.

Results ARE your credentials

 

So I need you to understand that you don’t need a PhD to start a coaching business (or any business)… and you need to focus on is delivering results. Results are your credentials… no amount of schooling or certificates will help you if you can’t deliver results!

 

I’m gonna challenge you a little here… I hope you’re up for it! Look. Everyone starts somewhere. You have to start to get your first sale, your first customer or your first client. So here’s the challenge:

 

If you have little to no experience but you know what you’re doing – grab 3 or 4 people who really need your help and HELP THEM. Don’t worry about how much to charge. Don’t worry about making any money. Focus ONLY on getting results.

 

If you’re a coach of some sort then work with them and treat them as VIP clients for 2 months. Test what you’re made of and deliver results… and you’ll easily get some amazing testimonials to sprinkle on your website.

 

If you’re selling a product then give it away (or lend it out) and make sure it delivers results or does what you say it does. Then get some video testimonials about how amazing the product is.

 

Also, start having conversations about what you’re doing with everyone! Help anyone who needs help. Post some blog posts and videos about it online. Become that go to guy so people know you’re serious, committed and passionate about your craft / product / industry.

 

I can guarantee you that in 3 months time you’re confidence in yourself and the results you’re able to deliver will sky rocket and you’ll be able to take your business to the next level.

Why are my Facebook Ads not working.

Here’s a common question I’ve been getting asked far too often: ‘Why are my Facebook ads not working!?’. If the answer to that question was simple then everyone would be mastering Facebook Ads. Truth is, although there are a few key elements that are universal to launching a successful Facebook Ads campaign, at the end of the day it’s a matter of testing and optimizing, testing and optimizing and testing again.

That being said, here’s how you can fix your Facebook Ad by asking yourself 2 simple questions:

Why are my Facebook Ads not working!?

 

QUESTION ONE: Am I getting clicks / engagement? If the answer is NO, then obviously the ad itself is the problem. Let’s dive into what makes an ad:

  • Have a look at your copy. Does it call out your ideal client? Is it clear and to the point? Will the reader know exactly what he’s in for and exactly how it’ll benefit him?

 

  • What about your image? Does it POP and stop a scroller dead in his tracks. Does the image reflect the offer and what the viewer is in for? I’ve found that sometimes a simple photo that blends in with the Facebook feeds works well, and sometimes a bright, catchy image works better. When in doubt, TEST BOTH and see what gets you better clicks.

 

  • Targeting. Are you targeting the right people? You may have amazing copy, a perfect image and a solid offer but if you’re targeting a meat lovers pizza to a group of vegans… you’re in trouble. Start with the basics (Geo-targetting, gender, age) and slowly filter down into specifics (people who follow certain pages or influencers). Do your research with audience insights and don’t forget about the power of retargeting. If you haven’t installed a Facebook pixel then seriously do so now 😀

 

QUESTIONS TWO: Am I getting conversations on my website? Okay, so your ad is up and running, you’re targeting is on point and your getting solid clicks… but no leads. Here’s a few key points to consider:

  • Your offer sucks. If you offer isn’t AMAZING then it’s hard to get people to opt in. Your offer has to solve a very real problem that your ideal customer desperately wants to solve. What you may think is an amazing offer may not be that amazing to your ideal customers. Remember: simple is often times better.   • You landing page needs work. Okay okay, so you have a solid offer but still no conversions. Rework your landing page. Start with a solid headline that promises some big results (and then deliver on them). Are you good on video? Throw in  a video and test it.

 

  • You don’t have a clear CTA. You NEED to tell your visitors what they need to do, step by step. Having a clear Call to Action is key. Keep your lead page simple and to the point. I know how frustrating Facebook ads can be. If you’re asking yourself why your Facebook Ads aren’t working, know this: Not every ad you launch will be successful. The best advice I can give you is TEST you ads with minimum budgets ($5 a day) and keep optimizing. Our first goal is to get click throughs, our second goal is to get conversions and out third goal is to warm up those leads and get customers / clients.
