Ahhh yes, clarity. It’s truly a beautiful thing. It has the power to eliminate anxiety, inject confidence, and inspire us into action. I’d go as far to say that most of our worries, fears, and doubts would instantly vanish if we’d only spend a little more time and energy on seeking clarity on a daily basis.

I think of clarity as a light bulb. I don’t care how strong, confident, or energetic you are, if I place you in a pitch black building you’ve never been in, filled with walls, doors, and obstacles, then ask you to run from one side of the building to the other, you’re not going to make it very far. In fact you’ll probably not run at all, and bounce of a wall or table fairly quickly. You’re most likely going to cautiously tip toe around with your arms out. Now let me sprinkle in a creepy sound coming from somewhere ‘over there’ and we have a perfect recipe for a fear inducing horror film.

Even if our goal is to ‘find an exit’, we’re still not sure where that exit is. Chances are we’ll spend hours tip toeing around, avoiding that creepy sound, trying to find an exit with absolutely no rhyme or reason for why we’re going left and not right.

But if we were to simply flick a light switch on and illuminate the room, you’d get instant confidence. You’d see arrows pointing to the exit. Thus, avoiding obstacles and navigating through the building would become easy. We discover that creepy sound in the building which had us terrified of a monster was just a paper copy machine left on that kept resetting itself every few minutes.

My point is, stop navigating in the pitch black within your coaching business.

So many coaches are terrified of giving away their ‘secrets’. Which ends up with them only giving away 90% of their wisdom hoping that people will reach out and pay for the final 10%. That, my friends, is a scarcity mindset at it’s finest, and there ain’t no business building magic happening in that state!

Instead, let’s start giving it ALL away. In your next live, go 100% value-delivering beast mode. In your next video, drop the secrecy and give away the real goods. Not only will you build a more loyal and committed following, you’ll find way more people reaching out to you who are willing to pay you for your time. You’ll actually stand out online as the coach who truly cares and over delivers. It’s the TIME you should be charging for, not the information.

What makes a successful online coach? For as long as I’ve been in the entrepreneurship game, I’ve literally been obsessed with answering one question: Why do some people succeed, and why do others fail?

Back when I was first starting out as a coach in the health and fitness space, on some deep subconscious level, I must have known that it’s a question that’s really worth answering. I figured that if I could just avoid doing what the failures were doing, and instead focus on what the successful people were doing, I’d eventually succeed.

Over the last six years, I’ve had the opportunity to not only study and test my findings on myself and my businesses, but to observe and coach hundreds of clients in multiple niches to really figure out why some enjoy success and others don’t. 

What I found is that everything boiled down to just TWO things, and two things only. Although there are hundreds of other variables that can speed up success, only two things create guaranteed long term success.

I think every coach knows what content marketing is, but very few know how to do it correctly. And by correctly, I mean creating content that not only educates and satisfies your current audience but helps you reach NEW people every single day.

In today’s episode, I want to dial in a seriously simple yet extremely effective 5 step content creation process that I personally use every single time I hit record. It doesn’t matter if you’re creating video content, podcast, blogs, or Facebook posts; these five steps stay the same.

Just a quick reminder: Use these five steps more as a framework rather than ‘rules’. Rules will suck all the creativity out of you and leave you looking and sounding like everyone else… (not good). Staying flexible and creative while applying this content creation process into your content will help you cut through the noise and truly stand out… (very good!).

One huge problem I know many online coaches struggle with is staying consistent with creating engaging content. The first half of the problem usually stems from simply losing interest in actually creating the content (we’re about to fix that). The other half lies in finding new topics, problems, and content ideas to help solve.

As a content creator who’s been creating content for over 6 years with insane consistency. I am about to share with you my hacks! Right now we’re doing an almost daily 60 second video on Facebook. We are doing 3 weekly episodes on the Coaches Corner Podcast, 3-4 videos a week on the Coaching Channel on Youtube, and 2-3 value packed emails a week to our email list. I know all too well how difficult it can be to keep the content ideas ‘flowing’.

Whenever I feel stuck I simply take a 30 minute (or less) ‘time out’. Then I quickly hammer out 2 quick ‘creative jumpstart’ actions that always give me a flood of content ideas to work with.
