From my experience working with over 300 coaches by now, and seeing them create an online coaching business, one observation has stood out more than anything else: Most coaches love the art and craft of coaching but detest the science of sales and marketing.
And I totally get it, working with clients is fun. It is fulfilling. It’s exciting. It’s rewarding. But it’s also completely dependent on our ability to actually bring in those clients in the first place. Although It’s important, It’s simply not enough to just be an amazing coach. We must learn to communicate not only why we’re so amazing, but how our amazingness will help your interested prospect get a life-changing result.
And here’s the good news: I call coaching an art… and I call business a simple science. Business is a numbers game that anyone can learn and create simple systems around that end up doing the heavy work. And to double that good news, at the end of the day, there are only 3 key numbers we must learn to grow.
1) Leads: We must get new potential clients into your business on a daily basis
2) Conversations: We need to find a way to turn those leads into conversations
3) Sales: Our offer must communicate our value and turn those conversations into sales
Once you have those key ‘systems’ dialed in, you’ll only need to ‘maintain’ the science part of your business and spend most of your time practicing the art of coaching while getting paid well for it.
